Recent reports have emerged that the Detroit Pistons are not keen on trading rehabilitated point guard Brandon Jennings this season, putting a stop on earlier rumors that the team is close to dealing their prized floor general to the New York Knicks in a package that includes Jose Calderon and Langston Galloway.

"We haven't one talk with anybody about him," Pistons head coach Stan Van Gundy said, as per Fox Sports. "I just think that people assume that with Reggie (Jackson) here and the way Brandon played last year, I think people just make that assumption. He's no more or less available than anybody else we have."

Although Van Gundy did not outright say that Jennings will stay in Detroit for the long haul, it seems like this season is not the time the 26-year-old, six-year pro will be traded.

New York Post's Marc Berman indicated on Sunday that the Knicks could trade for Jennings to address the current problems they have in their backcourt, particularly the no. 1 guard position.

With Calderon aging and Galloway and Jerian Grant still not mature enough to handle the pressures of being a starting point guard in a big city, New York head coach Derek Fisher is said to be unsatisfied about his backcourt's plays so far this season.

Jennings is also proposed as an ideal trade target because of his expiring three-year, $24 million deal with the Pistons, which will make him an unrestricted free agent next summer.

The 2010 NBA All-Rookie First Teamer has not played a single game this season as he had been recuperating from a torn Achilles tendon he suffered during a January 2015 regular season game. He underwent surgery to repair the rupture, which sidelined him ever since until just recently he was released to the Pistons' D-League team, the Grand Rapids drive, to continue to rehabilitate his feet.

Jennings is considered as one of the most explosive young point guards today. He averaged 15.4 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 6.6 assists playing and starting 41 games last season for the Pistons before his injury.
