Aaron Kwok, Chung Him Law, Feng Shaofeng and Xiao Shenyang are starring in the film.

According to Xinhua, Kwok has revealed that he feels enormous pressure playing the main character despite being one of the best actors in Hong Kong. Actors before him have created various impressions being the Monkey King.

Kwok has apparently not starred in any challenging film for more than 20 years. He said there was such an overwhelming demand from him both physically and mentally for this film. After playing the role, he feels that he has nothing to regret about his career.

Meanwhile, Feng Shaofeng plays the role of Tang Sanzang, a humorous monk with three apprentices. While filming, Feng was reportedly involved in an accident. He fell from his horse and got injured. While Feng was riding the horse, the pig played by Xiao Shenyang showed up with several ladies, and this seems to have frightened the horse, which moved upward. Feng claims to have been too surprised by what happened and said his mind went blank after the fall. But after 10 days, he was ready to continue shooting.
