Premier League clubs Manchester City FC and Chelsea FC are reportedly prepared to compete for the signature of Juventus' star midfielder, Paul Pogba, in the summer as the France international is set to exit Italy for a chance to play in England.

Caught Offside indicated, citing Italian media outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, that the defending English top flight champions' director Michael Emenalo has been looking closely at the 22-year-old Frenchman during La Vecchia Signora's 2-2 Champions League draw with Bayern Munich on Tuesday.

The Chelsea official was there to watch on loan midfielder Juan Cuadrado, but rumors were out that Emenalo was also checking out Pogba, who is said to be one of the primary summer targets of the Stamford Bridge residents, as per Goal.

However, another team official, the Bavarians' current manager Pep Guardiola, who is reportedly taking over the head coaching reins of Manchester City during the summer, is also casting a close eye on Pogba as he was a long-time fan of the 6-foot-3 midfielder.

Mirror said that Pogba "will be the most sought-after player in Europe this summer" and Guardiola "has responded favorably to Paul Pogba's come-and-get-me offer".

Pogba has reportedly admitted last week that he is considering a move to the Citizens at the end of the season after the official announcement that Guardiola will replace Manuel Pellegrini that time, which indicates his penchant in playing for the Spanish bench tactician.

Guardiola does not appear overexcited about the possibility of snagging Pogba this summer, though, saying that the Frenchman landing with City is not up to him, but up to the Manchester club itself.

"Now he's a Juventus player, he's very strong and very young," said the 45-year-old Bayern coach when asked about Pogba. "He's shown his value, but I know he's happy at Juve and I wish him a long career."

"Would I like to coach him? It doesn't depend on me, but on the club," he ended.
