Khloe Kardashian's Charity Scandal: 'KUWTK' Star Kept Donating to Lamar Odom's Inactive Charity

In 2013, ESPN carried out an investigation that revealed suspicious business practices at Khloe Kardashian's estranged husband Lamar Odom's charity, Cathy's Kids.

RadarOnline recently obtained details about how much the youngest Kardashian sister has been donating to the trouble-fraught organization at the time when it was considered "dormant".

A number that was listed for the organization on its tax forms led to Boulevard Management, an accounting firm, and staff members were uncertain when asked about the funds. According to an account executive, the charity remains inactive.

However, regardless of the dormant status and the fact that the organization has not formally established offices or a website for the charity itself, Kardashian has been passing on over $5,000 to the foundation in 2013. More than $10,000 was also reportedly donated by the reality TV star in 2012.

Based on the latest tax records, Kardashian's auctions from eBay raked in $5,342 that was donated to Cathy's Kids in 2013, despite claims that the charity has long become inactive. In 2012, such auctions also led to a donation worth $11,996.

Interestingly, based on the foundation's filed tax records, such donation had been the only one that the organization received during the entire year.

Questions have popped up as to how the money was spent. From the 2012 donations, over $6,961 had been paid to "professional fees and other payments to independent contractors" with none of it being allocated as a grant. Meanwhile, tax records for 2013 have not been made available for the public.

Based on ESPN's investigation, "Cathy's Kids never gave any grant money to cancer-related causes and that the charity primarily existed to finance two elite youth basketball travel teams," which can be deemed as a "violation of tax law."

Furthermore, Jerry DeGregorio who was Odom's basketball coach in high school and best man at his nuptials with Kardashian raked in an annual income of almost $72,000 between 2004 and 2011, despite the foundation's inactive status.

The "KUWTK" star insisted that all donations were used based on the charity's priorities. "Not one penny went to help Lamar personally or any member of his family," Kardashian said. "No charitable funds were misused, and the IRS has repeatedly given Cathy's Kids a clean bill of health, confirming that there were no improprieties."

Similarly, another Kardashian sister, Kim, had also become the center of controversy for her eBay auctions after donating merely 10 per cent of proceeds and obtained at least a whopping $400,000 in 2013.
