On the very same hilltop in Simi Valley where Ronal Reagan was laid to rest in 2004, Nancy Reagan has been laid to rest - side by side with her husband. This is the area where the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library stands, the largest operating presidential library in the United States. It was built in 1988 and completed in 1991.

The former US first lady used to call the place "the shining city on the hill" - a phrase that President Reagan coined to mean his goals and desires for the nation.

Nancy Reagan has been united beside her husband at the library they cherished after a memorial service attended by many friends and families from all over the United States. Although the service was held in private, members of the public were given a chance on Wednesday and Thursday to pay their last respect to Nancy Reagan.

During the public viewing of Nancy Raegan's remains onThursday, a crowd of more than 2,400 attendees attested to the elegance and kind-heartedness of the first lady. John Sandoval, one of the attendees, mentioned how beautiful and classic the first lady had been from President Reagan's governorship seat until his death in 2004.

The private burial service for Nancy momentarily brought the Republicans and Democrats together. Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi and Republican Newt Gingrich were among the politicians seen in attendance. Clinton, according to Associated Press, revealed that she will take a break from her  presidential campaign to pay her respect to Nancy Reagan.

Nancy Reagan died last week Sunday due to congestive heart failure. She is survived by her two children, Ronald and Patti. She was 94.
