Heartthrob Justin Bieber surprised his fans and left them feeling extremely disappointed when he suddenly announced on Instagram that he is cancelling his meet and greets as they leave him feeling "so drained and unhappy." The message was posted on March 22, 2016, along with a photo of him hugging a young fan.

While the singer said that he wants to continue making people happy, he also did not want to do so at his expense. The meet and greets, as he explained, always leave him "feeling mentally and emotionally exhausted to the point of depression."

Love u guys.. I'm going to be canceling my meet and greets. I enjoy meeting such incredible people but I end up feeling so drained and filled with so much of other people's spiritual energy that I end up so drained and unhappy.. Want to make people smile and happy but not at my expense and I always leave feeling mentally and emotionally exhausted to the point of depression .. The pressure of meeting people's expectations of what I'm supposed to be is so much for me to handle and a lot on my shoulders. Never want to disappoint but I feel I would rather give you guys the show and my albums as promised. Can't tell you how sorry I am, and wish it wasn't so hard on me.. And I want to stay in the healthy mindset I'm in to give you the best show you have ever seen ;)

Bieber's Purpose world tour just commenced last March 9, 2016, but it is highly likely that the pressure is already taking its toll on him as he mentioned that meeting fans' expectations has been a lot for him to handle. Although not wanting to disappoint, he feels that he'd rather give fans the best album and shows just like he promised.

However, after news of his announcement broke the Internet, according to TMZ, he cancelled his meet and greets due to a security concern involving an obsessed fan. The source claimed that it was the last straw for his security team.

Whatever the real reason is, a lot of fans are not too happy with his decision. A user on Twitter with the name @codyspearz said, "You're paid millions of dollars thanks to those who fans "who drain" you. Sorry your life is so hard," while @bakingswifts said, "Losing 2k is nothing to him, but imagine all the people that spent months working so they could pay for those tickets."

Another user with the Twitter handle @JeffSwift13 also slammed the popstar by comparing him to Taylor Swift. "Taylor: invites people to her house to meet them. Justin: requires you to pay $2000 to stand there while he doesn't even look at you."

Still, there are those who will support the singer no matter what. @TheEstherCutie fired back at the fans upset with Bieber and said, "Don't hate on @justinbieber for cancelling his M&G's, love him for wanting to be a better person." @believinglrh also understood Bieber and wrote, "I mean I wish I could meet Justin but his health is a lot more important than me getting a photo with him."

For fans asking if they could get a refund for the meet and greet, which costs $2000, Bieber's camp explained that they will refund the full amount if ticket holders also decide to forfeit their tickets to the concert.
