Despite the standing agreement between Google and Huawei, rumors that HTC is developing the Nexus 2016 just would not die down. To be fair, the rumors did not just come out thin air. In fact, the unveiling of the HTC 10 may be a preview of an even bigger alliance between the Taiwanese company and Google.

"HTC 10 is now official and there is no doubt the phone packs state of the art hardware, features as well as specs, among other things," Nashville Chatter said. "HTC also trimmed down the Sense to give the 10 an almost stock Android experience."

One of the advantages of the Google Nexus is the nearly full stock Android experience, as opposed to the bothersome updates and issues being endured by users of some other mobiles phones.

The partnership between HTC and Google is not new. The two companies worked together on the Nexus 9 tablet which was released in November 2014 and cost a shade under $400. Thus, the rumors about Google Nexus 2016 being the flagship for HTC might not be too much of a stretch.

Meanwhile, Know Your Mobile has speculated that HTC may be working on a pressure-sensitive touch display for the Google Nexus 2016 or most likely, the future iteration of the search giant's flagship.

"We're not expecting it to appear on the 2016 batch of Nexus handsets, we may be wrong, but we think if Google was that sold on pressure touch - enough to put it on its own hardware - it wouldn't have needed to be persuaded into coding it into Android N in the first place," the report said.
