The turbulent week continues for Conor McGregor and his fans as UFC president Dana White denies the Irishman's claim that he will be fighting in a rematch against Nate Diaz at UFC 200. This is the latest revelation in a string of announcements that has included McGregor retiring and then returning in the span of a day.

White's denial is in reference to a McGregor tweet from yesterday, which reads: "Happy to announce that I am BACK on UFC 200! Shout out to @danawhite and @lorenzofertitta on getting this one done for the fans. #respect."

After denying that McGregor would be put back on the UFC 200 card all weekend, White is getting frustrated. "I feel like the scene in 'Step Brothers' when they ask if they can build the bunk beds," he said. "I don't know how many more times I can say the fight is off or how many more press conferences I can have saying the fight is off for people to believe it's off."

White noted that the UFC would like to get their biggest star fighting again soon, saying, "he'll fight on [UFC] 201, 202, 203, whatever. I don't know when, but we'll get it figured out."

The drama started when McGregor was pulled from UFC 200. According to the UFC, McGregor was removed from the fight because he refused to fulfill all of his promotional duties.

Reacting to being cut from the event, The Notorious tweeted, "I have decided to retire young. Thanks for the cheese. Catch ya's later."

The next day, however, McGregor rescinded his retirement in a lengthy Facebook post. In the post, he listed out his marketing schedule, calling the public relations work a distraction from his training and hinting that it could be the reason for his surprising loss to Diaz last month.

"I'm left looking down the barrel of a lens, staring defeat in the face, thinking of nothing but my incorrect fight preparation. And the many distractions that led to this," McGregor wrote.

As the UFC stands by their punishment of the Irish fighter, the rest of the world - including Diaz - wants to see the rematch take place.

"I just came to fight Conor McGregor. I don't really have too much interest in anybody else," said Diaz.

A lot could change between now and July 9, when UFC 200 is scheduled to take place.
