Ever since Disney announced that "High School Musical 4" is in the works and its previous lead stars Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens will not be returning, many fans are wondering who will play the major character roles on the next installment of the movie.

Although Efron and Hudgens' characters Troy Bolton and Gabriella Montez will not return to the fourth installment of "High School Musical," there are still some roles who will be retained, one of which is Bart Johson's East High Wildcats head coach character.

Furthermore, fresh reports indicates that "A Tiger's Tail" fame Merit Leighton is in talks to replace Hudgens as Gabriella Montez in the "High School Musical 4"; however, Leighton is yet to confirm whether she will be taking the role or not.

Since no word yet whether Leighton will be take the female lead character, Disney has already confirmed three roles on "High School Musical 4," which will carry an official title of "High School Musical 4: Wild and Knights."

It is said that "High School Musical 4: Wild and Knights," which will be helmed by Jeffrey Hornaday and will be written by Dan Berendensen and Peter Barsocchinni, will focus on new characters.

Here are some of the confirmed new Wildcats' characters in "High School Musical 4: Wild and Knights":

Erin will be the only girl in an all-boy soccer team, and is said to be a badass player who always strives for excellence. Derek is also a soccer player and an incredible dancer who will fall in love with Erin. Campbell, who happens to be Sharpay and Ryan Evan's cousin, is a hot soccer captain who wants to date Erin. Tamara is East High's fallen Queen bee and a cheer squad member who seeks attention for herself. Nathalie is an outgoing cheerleader and Erin's BFF.

Speculations suggest that Tamara will be the main antagonist in "High School Musical 4: Wild and Knights."
