There is no doubt that Song Joong Ki is one of the most popular Asian actors today, who rose to fame after the success of the "Descendants of the Sun" series. His reputation has definitely elevated to a higher level that he also became a sought-after endorser and actor.

'Descendants of the Sun' actor Song Joong Ki boosted 'Happy Camp' ratings

Song Joong Ki was booked to appear in the "Happy Camp" show of Hunan TV in mid-May. The episode teaser that came out seven days ago featured Song Joong Ki kicking a white door and handling a yellow gun. The actor was also seen recreating some of his scenes in the "Descendants of the Sun" wherein he wore a military vest as he lies down the studio floor with a pillow teddy bear.

The appearance of Song Joong Ki has reportedly boosted the ratings of the "Happy Camp" May 21 episode, which gathered a total of 2.61 percent viewership rating.  It was, by far, the highest rating ever recorded for the variety show in China.

Song Joong Ki has been invited by the "Happy Camp" to gest several times already and only that time did the "Descendants of the Sun" actor had time for the variety show. Aside from reenacting several scenes from the "Descendants of the Sun" series, Song Joong Ki also participated a lot of games.

Song Joong Ki spotted filming for 'Descendants of the Sun' Season2

Meanwhile, Song Joong Ki was previously reported to have been spotted filming for the upcoming "Descendants of the Sun" Season 2. However, the report seems impossible since Song Joong Ki is currently busy having his Asian tour.

KBS have previously announced that the arrival of the "Descendants of the Sun" Season 2 is highly possible. The TV network said that they are already in talks to produce a sequel to the first "DOTS" series.

Up until now, no official word has been made public as to when fans should expect the coming of the "Descendants of the Sun" Season 2. Reports also say that the upcoming sequel might not be a sequel after all.
