Recent reports have emerged that Kevin Durant will "most likely" stay with the Oklahoma City Thunder next season following their Game 7 loss to the Golden State Warriors in the NBA's Western Conference Finals series.

Bleacher Report indicated, citing ESPN's Marc Stein, that the "most likely July scenario" for the 2014 NBA MVP will be for him to sign a two-year contract with the Thunder that has an opt out clause after the first season, enabling him to earn the most out of the three options he has.

Durant just finished his five-year, $89.1 million deal with the Thunder, making him an unrestricted free agent this July.

His first option is to re-sign with Oklahoma City for another five-year max salary deal worth $150.2 million, the most that any team can offer to him. The second option is to accept an offer from another club, which would be a four-year $110.9 million max deal.

The third, which is rumored to be the "most likely" choice of Durant, is a two-year deal that allows him to restructure it after one season. The total that he could take in a span of five-years would be $208.1 million, which is the maximum that he could earn in the NBA during the said time span.

With the 27-year-old former Texas Longhorn entering the prime stage of his career, he is allegedly looking for the best possible compensation package that he could have apart from trying to be in a contending squad.

However, when Durant was asked by reporters during the Thunder's loss to Golden State on Monday night what his future plans were, the seven-time All-Star looked lost in what to say.

"To be honest, I promise you I haven't thought about that," he said, as per Sports Illustrated.

"It's hard to think about that. Especially right now, especially when you're battling every single day. It's hard. Give me a couple weeks and talk to me then, but I just don't know right know, man," he added.
