The Carribbean squad, which recently won the World T20 in India, is looking to improve their performance in the ODI. West Indies currently sits on the 8th plance in the ICC ODI Ranking, while Australia and South African are ranked at the first and second position respectively. However, big names like Chris Gayle, T20 skipper Darren Sammy, Andre Russel and Dwayne Bravo have been left out of West Indian sqaud for the series.

South Africa, on the other hand, is looking to capitalize on the current form of top order batsmen AB de Villiers, Hashim Amla and Quinton De Kock. Eleven players in the squad took part in the recently concluded Indian Premier League.

"I don't think (the difference between T20Is and ODIs) is that big. The only thing is that you have a lot of time to set the game up. You have to remind yourself that there is a lot of time still left in the game, but it's a lot easier to go from T20s to one-dayers than from a Test match," South African opener Hashim Amla said.
