Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said on Friday that she will decide whether to run for the presidency after the New Year, reports said.

Speaking at a charity event in Mexico City, Clinton said she is "obviously" thinking about the possibility of running for president because it is "a very serious undertaking."

Clinton gave a motivational speech to thousands of students -- scholars -- supported by Telmex Foundation, one of the charitable organizations of Carlos Slim, the second-richest man in the world.

Also, Clinton once again addressed questions about her presidential plans after the issue was raised last June during a TV interview with CBS NewYork.

As a former first lady, she cited the "unique vantage point" she could bring to the presidency if she decides to run in 2016.

However, she said she could only speak about her intentions hypothetically.

She talked about some political matters during the Q&A and said that cooperation with countries in the region like Mexico is significant.

She also expressed her opinion on certain global issues, including her view of the United States government as a leader.

"What I have learned as secretary of state and before that as a United States senator is that every problem in the world cannot be solved by the United States, but there is not a problem in the world that can be solved without the United States," Clinton said.

She condemned Russian President Vladimir Putin over the crisis in Ukraine, while she called the Islamist rebels as a threat to the Middle East and beyond.

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, a potential GOP rival, was also in Mexico at the time of her visit.

Rutgers-Eagleton ran a poll in New Jersey last month and found out that Clinton would win over Christie in a hypothetical presidential race.

Also, President Barack Obama shared his view of Clinton running for president. He said she would be a "very effective" president if she decided to run.
