Middling team Liaoning Whowin FC (5-6-5, 20 points) is scheduled to meet surging powerhouse Shandong Luneng Taishan FC (3-9-4, 13 points) at the Shenyang Olympic Sports Center Stadium on Saturday, July 16 in a 2016 Chinese Super League season game.

Liaoning Whowin climbed to the 10th spot of the current China top flight table after winning four of their last five matches. Their only loss in five weeks was a heartbreaking 3-4 road defeat to Jiangsu Suning which could have gone either way in the late minutes.

Head coach Ma Lin's side is playing top football as of late, beating lowly squad Shijiazhuang Ever Bright, 2-1, also at their home field in Shenyang on July 8, which was their most recent CSL match, as per Goal.

Newcomers Dario Vidosic and Anthony Ujah provided the goals for the Northeast Tigers at the 16th and 83rd minutes respectively to come away with another three points in the overall standings. Ever Bright scored a consolation one at the 88th courtesy of another CSL newcomer, Brazilian forward Matheus Nascimento.

Meanwhile, perennial powerhouse Shandong Luneng is slowly getting back to top form following the return of Brazilian striker Diego Tardelli from injury and the recent acquisitions of former Newcastle United striker Papiss Cissé and Ex-Southampton and Italy striker Graziano Pellè.

Cissé and Pellè have yet to feature for manager Felix Magath, but Tardelli's return had been a big boost to the squad.

Taishan Dui also crushed Shijiazhuang, 4-0, during their match on Wednesday at the Jinan Olympic Sports Center Stadium, via Soccerway.

After a goalless first half, Magath's men suddenly awoke following the restart and scored four goals in the process.

Argentine midfielder Walter Montillo netted a brace at the 50th and 67th minutes while Tardelli scored his own double at the 83rd and in injury time to lift Shandong above the cellar of the league standings with their second straight victory.

The predicted result is a 2-0 win for Shandong Luneng.
