Facebook found a photo of an infant in need of a heart transplant 'too graphic' to be posted on the page created by his father to raise awareness and funds for the baby boy.

Kevin Bond, a North Carolina dad hoping to extend the life of his child, turned to Facebook to raise awareness and funds for his baby boy. However, his effort to do so via the social networking site was rejected because the photo showing his son with life-sustaining tubes had been dubbed as "too graphic" to be posted online.

Bond created the page "Hudson's Heart" for his two-month-old baby boy, who was born on July 18. The infant had been diagnosed to have a fatal heart ailment and is in desperate need for a new heart a week after he was born.

He is currently under the care of the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit of Duke Children's Hospital with only an artificial heart, called a Berlin heart, keeping him alive.

However, the Berlin heart is only buying him time while his parents and doctors search for a heart donor.

Hoping to get financial support and possibly a heart donor from social media users, Hudson's father opted to create a page on Facebook so he could spread the word.

Unfortunately, after attempting to 'boost' the page through Facebook's advertising function, Hudson's photo was rejected by the social networking giant. The site described the picture as "scary, gory, sensational and evokes a negative response."

"To have someone reject a picture [of] my beautiful son lying in a hospital bed needing help - that really cut me," Kevin Bond stated during an interview. The hopeful father shared that he was hurt by the way the website had rejected his helpless son's plea for assistance.

According to Fox6, Hudson's family tried contacting Facebook in the hopes of clarifying the rejection, but to no avail. Though the photo has been rejected, the 'Hudson's Heart' Facebook page remains up and running.
