The Ahn Luh Zhujiajia hotel was built by local craftsmen skilled in traditional Chinese architecture. Under Fung's supervision, the builders were able to move a 600-year-old Hui courthouse edifice dating back to the Ming Dynasty from Anhui province to Shanghai. The structure was transformed to become the hotel's lobby.

The building's central core is a restored Old Qing Dynasty Theatre, which Fung utilized to give the place a historical look. Each room in the hotel has its own exclusive garden and courtyard, while four other private villas have their own temperature-controlled outdoor pool.

The hotel also boasts of its own cigar bar which is said to hold a collection of some of the most exquisite tobacco in China, a Tai Chi room for the spiritual healing enthusiast, a library, a Chinese-inspired tapas restaurant, a grand ballroom that is free of pillars for more intimate gatherings, several indoor and outdoor swimming pools, spas, and a traditional Chinese medicine help desk.

Fung described the Ahn Luh as a "sanctuary of class and elegance with a touch of rich history." The hotel has a 5/5 review rating on Tripadvisor.
