Tourists can now enjoy an aerial view of Sichuan Province's famous Shixiang Lake as the local government recently announced plans to kick-off helicopter tours around the scenic area in Chengdu County.

According to China Radio International, tourists can now enjoy a magnificent view of the region - with its green and clean lake and colorful flowers - for one hour or more in an air vessel.

Local authorities started operating tours around Shixiang Lake in 2002. After 14 years of development, the landscapes, flowers, and water body in the area have become more prominent. The ecological reserve includes wetlands, forests, grasslands, and green rivers. The area also boasts of diverse floras including thousands of sunflowers, daisies, and tulips.

Shixiang Lake also boasts of a newly built temple that was completed in 2015. The temple has become one of the island's main attraction. The temple is divided into three sections; the monk's dwelling area, the Zen culture exhibit area, and the tourist area. The tourist area contains an exquisite collection of wooden and metal Buddha statues that families pray to for longer and happier lives. 

A team of customer service representatives will reportedly be stationed all over the province to answer inquiries about the new helicopter tour of Lake Shixiang.
