Underdog teams South Africa and China PR will both try to bounce back from their opening round losses to the Swede and Brazilian national teams respectively in the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics Women's football competitions.

The two teams face each other on Saturday at the Estádio Olímpico João Havelange in Rio de Janeiro to start the second round of Group E matches and both are hopeful they could pull off better performances from their first round setbacks.

South Africa lost a heartbreaking 0-1 decision to Sweden in a lackluster game on Wednesday also in the same venue, as per Vavel.

After a goalless first half when the Swede's did not even run at full speed, center back Nilla Fischer provided the lone goal of the contest at the 76th minute which also proved to be the winner for the favored side.

Head coach Vera Pauw's girls were resilient, though, as they kept on attacking until full time. The game saw their backfield's improvement and could be a major problem for China in their meeting this weekend.

Meanwhile, China was crushed by tournament host and title-favorites Brazil, 0-3, also at the Estádio Olímpico in Rio, the Olympics' official website reported.

The Steel Roses were unable to contain a much superior Brazilian side as Monica Alves, Andressa da Silva, and Cristiane Rozeira each scored a goal at the 36th, 59th, and 90th minutes respectively without a response from head coach Bruno Bini's squad.

The Chinese are expected to have an easier time against the South Africans, but should not be overconfident as to pull off their first win in the tourney.

The predicted result is a close 1-0 win for China.

South Africa starting lineup (4-4-2 formation): Barker; Vilakazi, Van Wyk, Ramalepe, Matlou; Jane, DIamini, Makhabane, Malherbe; Nongwanya, Seoposenwe

China starting lineup (4-4-2 formation): Zhao L.; Li, Wu, Liu, Zhao R.; Zhang, Pang, Wang Shu., Tan; Wang Sha., Yang
