Recent rumors have emerged that Chinese Super League club Hebei China Fortune FC is trying to lure former Inter Milan head coach Roberto Mancini to bring his services to China next season.

The 51-year-old Italian mentor was released by Inter on Monday in the aftermath of Chinese conglomerate Suning Commerce Group's takeover of the San Siro residents in June after the team was defeated by English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur, 6-1, in a preseason friendly last week.

There were speculations that the new ownership wants to bring in their own head coach to the club, which turned out to be former Ajax manager Frank de Boer, who was also signed on Monday.

Football Italia reported that Hebei is already "in negotiations" with the former Manchester City and Galatasaray head coach and the "first approach" was made by the CSL giants "three weeks ago".

However, with Mancini now a free agent coach, the newly-promoted China top flight outfit is said to be stepping up its efforts on hiring him to bring stability to the Samba Kings' tumultuous campaign this season.

Hebei dropped to fifth place from being as high as the second spot in the current Chinese first division table after being winless in six of their last seven games, which includes a five-game losing streak.

If the rumors push through, Mancini is set to join other big-name non-Asian coaches in the China top flight, such as World Cup-winning manager Luiz Felipe Scolari of five straight defending champions Guangzhou Evergrande, Shanghai SIPG's Sven-Göran Eriksson, Guangzhou R&F's Dragan Stojković, Shanghai Greenland Shenhua's Gregorio Manzano, and Shandong Luneng's Felix Magath.

HITC indicated that Mancini "would still be a huge coup" for the CSL if Hebei managed to acquire him as the Italian boss is considered as one of the top brains in the sport today.

Mancini will also have two former Serie A stars in the Samba Kings' roster with former AS Roma forward Gervinho and ex-Napoli striker Ezequiel Lavezzi.
