One of the biggest factors, when it comes choosing a smartphone, is battery power, and smartphone manufacturers are yet to properly address this issue. This dilemma has opened up a new market for external battery storage devices, more commonly known as power banks. Elephone has a decent line of smartphones and other devices under its belt. However, due to the increasing demand of power banks, the company created the ElePower Thunder.

The ElePower Thunder packs a hefty 16000mAh capacity, close to tripling the battery capacity of conventional smartphones. Another important feature that the ElePower Thunder has is its QC 3.0, a quick charging technology that is supported by most current generation smartphones. According to Phone Radar, the QC 3.0 technology charges around four times faster compared to its predecessor, QC 2.0.

To protect users from power surges and overheating tendencies, the Elephone Thunder packs all the necessary safety protocols. Elephone claims that the Thunder was properly tested against some power banks that are currently available on the market. According to Giz China, after 500 charging cycles, most power banks retain only about 30 to 50 percent of their overall capacity, the ElePower Thunder, on the other hand, retains 80 percent. Elephone attributes this feature to the power bank's LG chipset, along with its top-of-the-line technology.

Elephone is yet to confirm the official price of the ElePower Thunder. However, with the company's reputation of releasing budget-friendly devices, the upcoming power banks is unlikely to be very expensive.
