Iraq Violence Kills 1,375 People in January

The United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) announced that a total of 1,375 people, mostly Iraqis, were killed in terrorist attacks and violence in Iraq last month.

Four ex-Blackwater contractors were found guilty on Wednesday for the mass shooting of some 30 Iraqis in Baghdad in 2007, a highly controversial incident that sparked global anti-American sentiments and earned criticism from detractors who said the shelling was just another example of a war gone wrong.
