Chinese Woman Dodges Death Sentence for Murdering Abusive Husband

Chinese Supreme People's Court overturned the death sentence of a woman who killed and dismembered her husband after years of domestic abuse. Women's rights advocates, lawyers and nongovernmental organizations hailed the court's move as a step forward in China's attitude toward domestic violence.
