A Chinese student who fled the U.S. after murdering his girlfriend in Iowa and stuffing her body into a car trunk has been sentenced to life imprisonment in China.

Iowa State University students are holding a memorial service Friday in honor of Tong Shao, the Chinese chemical engineering junior whose body was found in the trunk of her car last week.
