Ackman issued a brief press release on Friday saying that he will conduct a conference call on March 11th to clarify details of his investigation about Herbalife.

"The report will show that Herbalife's business in China is much like the company's business in other parts of the world," said Ackman in the press release. Ackman firmly believes regulators will probe the company's alleged pyramid scheme.

Ackman's Pershing Square Capital Management hedge fund has invested more than US$1 billion into Herbalife's stocks in the past one year. Since no regulators have so far responded to Ackman's request to probe Herbalife,  Pershing Square Capital has suffered a huge loss, but Ackman remains optimistic.

U.S. Senator Edward Markey had previously demanded that the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) probe Herbalife. Friday was the deadline for the SEC and the FTC to respond to the Senator's request.

Herbalife's battle was one of the most dramatic stories that unfolded on Wall Street this year. Ackman has had to fight against Wall Street titans Carl Icahn and William Stiritz, who hold big stakes in Herbalife.

A year ago, Ackman claimed that Herbalife's business model is a pyramid scam and the company's stock price would drop to zero, but Herbalife had steadfastly denied Ackman's accusation.
