JK Rowling Releases New, Free Harry Potter Story Online

Seven years after the release of her last Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, epic author JK Rowling has finally decided to continue the saga. This time, Rowling took to the internet her creative genius as the published a Potter story on the website Pottermore.com, her online portal about everything Harry Potter.

The story centered on the good-to-evil character Dolores Umbridge, the fifth book's main villain, which was played by Oscar nominee Imelda Staunton in the movie.

Readers have to set up an account on Potter More and to pass the simple game-like activities to access the story.

The games include hovering their mouse over illustrated scenes until they find a clickable item that lets them read the content.

The story revealed Umbridge's never-before-told past, highlighting the twist the made her powerful in the wizarding world.

Rowling also gave her personal thoughts about Umbridge.

This is the second time that the renowned English author gave a special treat to her fans, who have been clamoring that she release a new Potter book.

In August the story of Celestina Warbeck, a minor Potter character found its way to the online portal. Pottermore's creative team also released an original single specifically referring to the singer, which goes "You Stole My Cauldron, But You Can't Have My Heart." The tune is sweet and perfect suits the taste of children and teens.

Of the Potter More site, Forbes revealed that the site does not use "outside advertising." Revenue is dependent on selling e-books, keychains and other Harry Potter-related merchandise.  However, the stories, which are published periodically, free for Potter More members.

Rowling, you used to be on Forbes' billionaires list, reportedly earned US$14 million in 2013 and has placed #84 on the magazine's list of the World's Most Powerful Celebrities.
