A British banker indentified as Rurik George Caton Jutting is said to appear in a court in Hong Kong on November 3 after being accused of murdering two women whose bodies were discovered in his Wanchai apartment.

Investigators handling the case released a statement saying that the 29-year-old banker is being held for two counts of murder after a woman with stab wounds to her neck and buttocks was found in his living room while another already decaying body was located inside a suitcase on Jutting's balcony.

The body found in the living room was described by the authorities as an Indonesian who was possibly aged 25 to 30 and pronounced dead at the scene from what authorities suspect to be massive wounds to her neck.

As for the body found in the suitcase, no information has been released yet about its identification or how long the body had been sealed up, but officials stated that there were photos of the body wrapped in a carpet on the suspect's mobile phone. Officials also added that there were maggots in the suitcase, causing them to conclude that the person had been dead for some time.

The two victims were said to be possible sex workers but officials have yet to confirm the information.

Police were called to Jutting's apartment on Saturday morning in a residential block that is known as an area where expatriates are living.

The Britain Foreign Office already released a statement regarding the situation noting that Jutting has been arrested and revealing plans to actively participate in the case and work hand in hand with the Hong Kong's local police providing "consular assistance".

Jutting's LinkedIn profile says that he is a graduate from Cambridge University and that he worked as a securities trader for Bank of America Merrill Lynch. However, when the bank was asked about Jutting, spokesman Paul Scanlon said that Jutting previously worked with them but was not in connection with them anymore.

Jutting also posted a status on his social networking account last week and said: "Stepping down from the ledge. Burden lifted; new journey begins. Scared and anxious but also excited. The first step is always the hardest."
