Oregon 'mommy blogger' Jillian McCabe was arraigned Tuesday on suspicion of killing her autistic son by throwing him off Newport, Oregon's landmark Yaquina Bay Bridge.

McCabe was charged with murder, aggravated murder, and first- and second-degree manslaughter. She was held on $1 million bail with her next scheduled hearing set for November 12.

The 34-year old McCabe called 911 just before 6:30 p.m. Monday reporting her action. Voices in her head told her to do it, she said.

Responding to questions from the 911 dispatcher, McCabe said "I just threw my son over the Yaquina Bay Bridge," adding her son London had disappeared in the water. She described her son, then identified herself to arriving Lincoln County sheriff's deputies.

One deputy said he saw McCabe carrying the boy on the bridge. The officer was too far away to intervene, but noted the sight seemed odd considering the boy's size.

Police scoured the water 133 feet below the bridge. The boy's body finally was located east of the bridge near Embarcadero Resort around 10:30 p.m.

McCabe was a blogger who recently posted an online donation site for her family. She said her boy had been diagnosed with autism while her husband suffered from multiple sclerosis. She also posted videos last year with her husband saying she needed help to cope with his affliction and her son's autism.

"I am scared and I am reaching out," McCabe said. "I am not coming across trashy or over-reactionary. I must explore every avenue to take care of my family right now."

London McCabe, the murdered boy, was a kindergarten student at Crestview Elementary in Waldport. Ore. Grief counselors worked with first responders due to the disturbing nature of the scene, according to police.

The arched bridge across Yaquina Bay is an Oregon coast landmark, dating to 1936. It's recorded in the National Register of Historic Places.
