Boxing legend and multiple world title holder, Roy Jones Jr., said that the management of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will not let Anderson Silva box with him.

Jones said it is a pity and a shame that the UFC is keeping Silva from fulfilling his life dream.

Dana White, President of the UFC, is known for the phrase, "We'll see." He uses it whenever people have crazy ideas of dream matches and the like. He's been using it on the media for years.

However, White got his money's worth when it came to entertaining the potential dream match between Silva and Jones. This has been one of Silva's dreams, and he has been campaigning hard for it even before he lost his middleweight title to Chris Weidman at UFC 162.

White did indulge the former champion though, seating Jones cageside in Las Vegas, Nevada on the night of UFC 162. However, things didn't go as planned for Silva, and he was knocked out. The belt was taken from him.

"The UFC won't allow him to fulfill his dream and get in the ring and enjoy a night of sharing the ring with the great Roy Jones. Jr.," Jones told MMA Fight Corner.

Jones added that it was a pity and a shame because he was sure that fans from both sports would love to see the fight take place. Many people would also learn a lot from two legends in one ring at the same time.

Jones even acknowledged that Silva was like him in that he was also a good fighter and an entertainer as well.

Silva spoke to Roda Viva in Brazil and commented that if White let him do the things he wanted, then he would lose control. That's what really drives White mad, he said.

Silva and Jones - at 40 and 46 respectively - are moving on in their years. Time is not on their side. They need to act quickly if they want to get their dream match on and present it to the world.

It looks highly unlikely though as Silva has just re-signed his contract for an additional 15 fights with the UFC.
