NFL to Eject Marshan Lynch if He Wears Cleats of Gold

Even before the Seattle Seahawks faced off against the Green Bay Packers in the NFC championship game, running back Marshawn Lynch already had troubles as the National Football League (NFL) banned him from coming out with cleats made of gold.

Three days ago, designer Marcus Rivero shared the golden cleats the Lynch should have worn to the game against the Packers. In an Instagram post, he shared a picture of the cleats as well as a message saying how he couldn't wait to see Lynch wear them in the upcoming weekend.

According to Thirty Mile Zone (TMZ) Sports, the cleats are made of 24K gold flake paint and a gold chrome plate at the bottom. They are valued at $1,100. Fox Sports' Jay Glazer initially reported that if Lynch were to show up to the game with the ridiculously expensive shoes, he would ejected.

The NFL's stance softened later on though, saying that they would allow Lynch to show up with the cleats and then change later on. However, Lynch was no fool. He did not want to take any more chances. He showed up for kick off wearing cleats that are compliant with the NFL.

The reason behind the NFL's opposition of the cleats is the fact that they want the players to dress uniformly.

In 2013, Brandon Marshall of the Chicago Bears wore non-compliant NFL cleats. The shoes bore significance for him as they were to promote mental health awareness. Yet, the nobility of the cause did little for Marshall as he was still ejected for the game.

Lynch's shoes on the other hand have no ties to charity.

Despite Lynch's woes with his cleats, he goes home a happy man as he and his team beat the Green Bay Packers in a thrilling overtime contest (28-22) to win the NFC Championship.

The Seahawks head into the Super Bowl and will meet the New England Patriots.
