Hong Kong martial arts film star Chan, 59, who declared last year at France's Cannes film festival that he was retiring from action films, now says that after more than a decade of contemplating quitting, he is going to let his body decide. As Chan starts to enter his twilight years he laments how Hollywood typecasting may force him to begin using a stunt double for his acrobatic scenes as he believes Hollywood studios would never cast him in dramatic roles. Hong Kong superstar Jackie Chan revealed that he has no plans of fetching his son Jaycee Chan in Beijing after the latter's six months in prison for marijuana comes to an end next week.

"No, I won't," he said when asked if he intends to pick up the young actor.

"I don't even know when he's going to be released. [The media] knows more about it than I do. I didn't even go visit him," he said.

According to Jackie, Jaycee is a grown man now, so he definitely knows how to take care of things on his own.

"I don't want him to live in my shadows," he explained.

Jackie also revealed that it takes them a very long while before they see each other.

"Sometimes we wouldn't see each other for two years!," he said.

The veteran actor also aired his relief with his son's prison stint, explaining that it has made him mature.

The father also hopes that "he'll know how to face his future" the moment he emerges out from prison.

"I will not speak for him, but Joan and I will always be there to be his backup," he said.

Jackie also said that it's up to Jaycee to decide if he wants to hold a press conference following his jail release.

Video clips of Jaycee in prison can reveal that the actor has in fact grown more handsome than he used to be.

Jaycee is slated for release before Lunar New Year, just in time to spend this festive occasion with his family.

Jackie, however, won't be around because he would have to work on his new film, Dragon Blade , which also stars John Cusack, Adrien Brody, and Choi Siwon

Of his Valentine's Day plans, the actor revealed that he doesn't usually prepare a surprise or something to his wife, Joan Lin. "We should treat every single day as our Valentine's Day and birthday," he said.
