"By [sic] to my favorite guy in this whole world be in peace we love you forever bro I'll see you one day soon we shall dance again in God's kindom forever and ever bro words can't describe my pain world pray for me!"

Ahmad and Kamal Givens had their first taste of show business after they joined VH1's I Love New York in 2007. Their exposure led to a starring role on their own reality TV show, Real Chance of Love , which ran for two seasons.

In 2013, Givens found out that he had stage 4 colon cancer.

Givens narrated how he felt when he found out about his illness in an interview at the New York Life 2014 National Cultural Markets Conference.

"That day was very surreal. I felt like I was dreaming," he said.

"It felt unreal all the way up until I had to do chemo," he continued.

After doctors diagnosed him with the condition, he was immediately placed under chemo.  He was given a surgery but the tumors already metastasized to the left side of his brain, causing the right side of his body to be partially paralyzed.

"I just have faith in God, man," he said.

But what kept him going through the battle against cancer? Givens said that it was his "will to live."

He's also got a message for his son.

"For my son, I want him to know that his father did everything that he could to provide the best life for him. That his father was there for him, that his father was honest," added Givens. "Through my son my legacy will continue."
