(Photo : Reuters) Apple has removed Windows 7 support from all the Mac range.

Apple has announced the new 12-inch MacBook, a completely redesigned notebook for travelers and people that don't care about the 20 different connectors on normal laptops.

The new 12-inch MacBook is 13.1 mm thin at its thickest point and weighs only 2 pounds. Apple has redesigned the logic board, removing the fan and several ports, making it 67 percent thinner than the previous MacBook Air logic board.

Internally, the 12-inch MacBook features an Intel Core M processor clocked at 1.3 Ghz, 8 GB of RAM, 256 GB of SSD, 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0 and 9 hours of battery life.

Apple has made a new technology breakthrough in battery design, allowing 30 percent more battery storage inside the new MacBook.

Apple has added an edge-to-edge 'retina' display with a 2304 x 1440 resolution. The new keyboard features a "butterfly" design on each key and the Taptic Engine already added onto the Apple Watch has been added to the trackpad.

The new connector is a USB-C and is the only port on the outside of the 12-inch MacBook. It will support charging, USB, display, VGA and other connectors, making it a multi-purpose port. Apple will launch a new wired charging cable, meaning all of the previous charging cables are once again incompatible.

This is a new brand in-between the MacBook Air and Pro and will start at $1299. A higher-spec version is available for $1599. The launch will come later this month.
