The 71-year-old American actor told the press that he is "very happy to be here."

During the course of the conference, one female magazine editor requested if she could take a picture beside him and the Nobu executives since she is a big fan, and to everyone's delight, De Niro graciously accommodated her request.

When asked if he is amenable to the idea of working in film shooting located in the Philippines, the actor replied that he will stay, provided that the right movie project comes along. Teper was also asked if he is willing to produce a De Niro movie that will be shot in the Philippines and he replied that he will do if they can find him an investor willing to bankroll the movie project.

With regards to tasting the local food, the actor admitted that he has not tasted much of it but really wants to taste the local cuisine whenever possible.

It is said that this is actually the second time that De Niro visited the country to promote Nobu Hotel - first in 2014 when he went in Manila to herald the opening of the hotel in the country.

Together with fellow actor Leonardo DiCaprio and film director Martin Scorsese, they appeared in a one minute video promoting the City of Dream Manila. The video advertisement has been posted in YouTube and has been rumored that both actors got $13 million each.
