Clarkson, who averaged 11.9 points, 3.2 assists and 3.2 rebounds per ESPN stats, joined Nikola Mirotic of the Chicago Bulls, Elfrid Payton of the Orlando Magic, Nerlens Noel of the Philadelphia 76ers and Rookie of the Year winner Andrew Wiggins of the Minnesota Timberwolves in the fabled All-Rookie First Team selection.

Timberwolves Zach Lavine, Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart, Brooklyn Nets forward Bogdan Bogdanovic, Denver Nuggets center Jusuf Nurkic and New York Knicks Langston Galloway comprised the All-Rookie Second Team.

The 46th overall pick in 2014 NBA Draft, Clarkson spent most of his first three months on the Lakers bench until he finally had his break following Kobe Bryant's season-ending shoulder injury.

The 22-year old Clarkson took the opportunity by the horn, recording 11 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists in his first NBA star against the San Antonio Spurs on January 23. Since then, the former Missouri Tigers standout continued to improve his stats across the board, putting up record-setting performance after the other to earn more playing time from Lakers head coach Byron Scott.

On March 30, Clarkson had more than held his ground against All-Star guard Russell Westbrook, as he exploded for a career-high 30 points on 12-for-19 shooting with 7 assists, 4 rebounds and 3 blocks in a 127-117 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Clarkson averaged 15.8 points, 5.2 assists and 4.2 rebounds in the month of March and 19.4 points, 6.8 assists and 4.6 rebounds in April to seal his spot in the NBA All-Rookie team.
