With works partner Renault poor performance and reliability continues, Red Bull rumored that they showed an interest to switch to Ferrari engine next season, according to AutoSports.com

The Maranello-built engines was the supplier of Red Bull since 2006. But after nine years, the partnership between both camps will come to a close, as their partnership produced four successive Formula One Championships under the era of Sebastian Vetell.

In the latest news around the world of motorsports, it was announced that Ferrari is keen to work with Red Bull and Toro Rosso in 2016. However, the Ferrari engine that would supply Red Bull and Toro Rosso is obviously a clear B status, which is a bit of a downgrade with 20-30 horsepower. Honda is also thought to be a possible target in the future, but currently Ferrari was the likely alternative.

However, Red Bull boss Dietrich Mateschitz has end the rumors to switch to Ferrari power units next season. He suggested that there was no option, as Renault is only the option. He believes using a customer engine will not help them win a title, as he would prefer leaving F1 than to be the secondary customer team for Mercedes and Ferrari.

Also, it's already cleared that Red Bull might leave the sport if the regulations will not be adjust, as they have lost their interest to continue. If the company sees that they have no chance of fighting for the title again, it's probably safe to say that Red Bull's campaign will soon come to an end.

Even their Aerodynamics wasn't working as well, as their chances with the aerodynamic regulation are so limited. Designer Adrian Newey with his specialty at the front wing hasn't made any difference as of late, although he was instrumental in helping Sebastian Vetell to earn his four World Titles in the past.

Ahead of the Austrian Grand Prix, Red Bull Racing already used their fourth engine this season, where they have been given a grid penalty in the next race via EuroSports. They will start at the back of the starting line-up.

Red Bull teams are contracted to Renault until 2016. But the possible break up would force Renault to buy the struggling Lotus team and build a full works team of their own, which is something a possibility in the future.
