Youxue Mo created history by winning Chinese first 100 meters gold medal at World Youth Championships

Beijing Time, early morning on July 12th, Chinese 17-year-old young athlete Youxue Mo won the first place in men's 100 meters of 2013 IAAF World Youth Championships, which is held in Donetsk, Ukraine. Youxue Mo made his personal best of an impressive 10.35 in the race. And he becomes the first Chinese champion to win the 100 meters gold metal in World Youth Championships

As a young athlete, Youxue Mo was born on February 10th, 1996. Maybe he wasn't well known before this overnight success. But actually he has been a first class athlete in China since 2011. He was just 15 years old that year.

According to information from the International Association of Athletics Federations, Youxue Mo only participated in two large competitions before, including this one. Both the competitions are in this year. In Chinese national track and field great prix competition on April 27th, Youxue Mo ran 21 second 39 in the men's 200 meters.

In this 2013 World Youth Championships, Youxue Mo and a British runner Ojie Edoburun crossed the finishing line at the same time. Both of them run 10.35. However, after technical confirmation, Youxue Mo won the race by a margin of 0.002 second.

Youxue Mo created a new piece of history in Chinese track and field. He also created the best result in the world youth men's 100 meters of this year.
