The latest Huawei's MediaPad has an aluminum unibody design, and it is just 9.9mm thin and weighs 350 grams. MediaPad is slightly heavier than Nexus 7 tablet. MediaPad 7 Youth has a 1280×800 7 inch display, including an undisclosed 1.6GHz dual-core CPU. RAM and internal storage have not been disclosed so far. Huawei has announces that MediaPad is running a pretty stocky 4100 mAh Li-Polymer battery, which can make sure the tablet to work normally for a whole day on a single charge.

In addition, the MediaPad 7 Youth supports Wi-Fi connectivity and multiple networks on HSPA+.  Therefore it will support voice calls, SMS and MMS messages.

From the exterior appearance, the MediaPad 7 Youth will be definitely a tablet. But actually, it is also a smartphone with the functions of calls and messages. However, whether there is a large demand in the market for such an odd device is still unknown. But without doubt, Huawei is seeking a group of consumers who love both a smartphone and a tablet in one single device.

The tablet runs on Android version 4.1. Though Huawei hasn't clarified which user interface the MediaPad 7 Youth will use, it's probably running the company's Emotion UI skin on top. Price of the MediaPad 7 Youth hasn't been announced yet, but Huawei has promised that they will begin selling these new tablets throughout the third quarter of 2013 in Russia, China, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Europe.
