The son of martial arts superstar Jackie Chan reportedly did not receive any special treatment from the jail officers. He underwent the standard X-ray procedure, where he had to take of all his clothes, and shared one cell with 10 people for a certain period. During his stay, he would spend the time writing his daily thoughts through letters for his mother and reading a number of books. In that same span of time, Jaycee managed to finish four songs, which supposedly prompted his father to consider producing an album with him someday.

With Jaycee at the media event was his mother Lin Jeng-fiao, who has been looking after her son since being freed. Noting his looks, Toggle observed the singer-actor's apparent lack of sleep and "stiff' nature in front of the cameras. In a previous article, the entertainment website ran the story of Jaycee developing a "new personality." According to reports, the 32-year-old has become scared of being in front of crowds and aloof even with familiar faces. Sources alluded this change in behavior to his "immense guilt" for his marijuana involvement.

According to Jaycee, he had a hard time adjusting to the condition in jail that he reached a point wherein he would prey on mosquitoes to either "feed to spiders in the toilet" or "stick on the wall to gauge wind direction." With limited food choices, he sometimes settled with cup noodles and ate little for fear of gaining weight. Eventually, his encounter with fellow inmates made him acknowledge his mistakes and decide on how he would live his life from then on.

When he was released in February, all Jaycee did was bow and apologize before the cameras. Today, while he still shies away from public attention, he has gained the confidence to work hard and stand up again. With his mother's constant care, his father's renewed support, and fans who still believe, Jaycee hopes to put the pieces of his life together again.
