Another much-loved Korean celebrity couple bites the dust. Lee Seung Gi and Yoona have pulled the plug on their relationship after a year and nine months -- some reports says after a year and seven months -- of dating each other.

The breakup news was first reported by Star News, saying that the reason behind this split is "extremely busy schedule." Yoona's management agency, SM Entertainment, has confirmed the news, but without divulging the reason behind the breakup.

"It's true that the two are no longer a couple. They've returned to being colleagues," Korea Boo quoted SM Entertainment as saying to X Sports News.

Singer-actor Seung Gi and Yoona, who is the lead singer of popular idol group Girls' Generation, first confirmed that they were dating last year in January. According to reports, they had started dating in Sept.2013.  Both Seung Gi and Yoona have a positive image in South Korea and have a huge fan following, and both their fans were delighted to know about their relationship.

The two, however, rarely made public appearances together, and the speculation that they may have parted ways was swirling since some time.  And during a press conference held for her idol group's television show, "Channel Girls' Generation," Yoona said -- when asked about her relationship with Seung Gi -- that Girls' Generation is her first priority and everything else comes second, Soompi reported.

In addition to her music commitments, Yoona is also busy because of her acting schedule. She has been filming for the Chinese period drama "Chinese Hero Zhao Zi Long" since Jan. this year. Yoona, who earlier starred in Korean dramas such as "Love Rain" and "Prime Minister and I," has a central role in the drama. She enjoys a considerable fan following in China as a hugely popular member of Girls' Generation.

Meanwhile, Seung Gi is also in China to film a new reality show, titled "New Journey to the West." He is reuniting with his "1 Night 2 Days" co-stars for this new outdoor variety show that will air on a Web platform, not on a broadcast channel.
