Apple is all set to launch its 4th generation Apple TV this October, which is expected to be priced at either $149 or $199.

The upcoming Apple TV will be revealed at the annual Apple media event that is scheduled to take place on September 9, Mac Rumors reported.

It is said that the speculated price tag of $149 or $199 is quite expensive than the $99 tag of the 3rd Gen Apple TV when it was launched. It is further rumored that Apple will continue to sell its 3rd generation TV at a price of $69.

The iDigital Times reported that if they sell two variants of a device, Apple will certainly get an edge over Google and Samsung; however, the 3rd gen Apple TV is an entry level device as it is a set-top-box  that does not support the App Store and the functionality of Siri.

It is also expected that the much anticipated Apple's streaming TV service will be available within the time frame of 2016, which will be made available through a software update in both the 3rd gen Apple TV and the 4th Gen Apple TV. The web based TV service is rumored to deliver a very light weight package of 25 channels for just $40 per month.

The 4th gen Apple TV is expected to be equipped with a dual core processor (A8) and a dedicated App store that will look more or less similar to its predecessor.

It is also rumored to sport an in house SDK, in addition with the Siri voice control, a Home Kit integration system, a new remote control, new motion sensors, a touch pad at the top, and physical buttons at the bottom. It will also be equipped with a microphone.
