Land Rover Unveils Range Rover Evoque Convertible

Car manufacturer Land Rover has unveiled the new Range Rover Evoque Convertible SUV. The car was unveiled at the popular Central Saint Martins building of the University of the Arts in Kings Cross, London.


The new Range Rover Evoque Convertible sports a fresh design as well as several upgrades that diferentiates it from previous Evoque model. The new Evoque Convertible has a unique folding roof that makes it ideal for an all-season drive. Land Rover claims that the new Evoque's foldable fabric roof is the longest and widest fitted to any car that is currently available in the market.

The new Range Rover Evoque Convertible is the fifth model in the Range Rover family and will be the first to sport a convertible design. The car was manufactured at the Halewood production line and will hit the market sometime next spring, according to Daily Mail.

Land Rover design director and chief creative officer Gerry McGovern said during the Evoque's announcement that "Range Rover Evoque Convertible is a vehicle for all seasons. Its uniquely distinctive design and world-class engineering adds another dimensions to the Range Rover family, further enhancing its desirability and appeal."

The Range Rover Evoque Convertible's roof fully folds into place in 18 seconds and can be raised in 21 seconds while the car is running at a maximum of 30mph.

Latest statistics show that the international SUV market is expected to grow by around 20 percent within the next five years. Range Rover executives claim that the new Evoque Convertible will help the company maintain its current market position in the years to come.

The Range Rover Evoque Convertible will be available in either two-liter petrol or diesel engine variants. Each engine variant is available in two trims; HSE Dynamic Lux and HSE Dynamic.

Under the hood, the Evoque Convertible has a 240-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder engine, a nine-speed automatic transmission as well as a Terrain Response system, which helps the car adapt to any terrain or road condition, according to Motion Cars.
