Football Transfer News: AC Milan Striker Luiz Adriano to Move to Jiangsu Suning of China for $15 Million

Luiz Adriano of AC Milan could be the next Brazilian footballer to move to China as he is reportedly set for a $15 million transfer to Chinese club Jiangsu Suning FC.

The Brazilian striker only arrived from Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk over the summer for over $9 million. He is Milan's leading scorer after Carlos Bacca in all competition this season.

Milan will make over $7 million in profit if Luis Adriano moves to Suning. Meanwhile, the player will make over $7 million per season plus $3 million in performance-related bonuses.

According to Milan, the Brazilian striker was not called up for the team's Coppa Italia quarterfinal against Carpi because he was in negotiations for a transfer.

Jiangsu Suning FC recently made an offer to Sampdoria forward Eder, but he he turned down the deal that would have seen him earn over $5 million per season.

Chinese outfits have been very active in enticing South American players to move and continue their football career in China. Due to higher salaries and the improved standard of the Chinese Super League, China has become an increasingly alluring destination for Brazilian players and coaches.

In recent months, several Brazilian players have signed for Chinese clubs. Midfielder Diego Tardelli transferred to the Shandong Luneng. 2015 Brazilian Championships best player Renato Augusto accepted a US$11 million transfer offer from Beijing Guoan.

In December, midfielder Jadson moved to China following a $5.4 million offer from Tianjin Songjiang, a second tier club. The club also signed Luis Fabiano from Sao Paulo in the same month.
