To promote good health and well-being, a 72-year-old yogi is offering yoga for free three times a week in Hangzhou City, in East China's Zhejiang province. Le Mingchao, 72, taught 20 students since last year.

Le, one of the few senior yoga instructors in Hangzhou City, has already taught yoga to 20 people since March of last year, according to China Daily. All of his students are middle-aged, elderly people with an 81-year-old among them.

In response to the increased demand for yoga classes as his yoga skills continues to spread around the city, Le has decided to increase his courses just to help the elderly people participate in different activities.

Le started working out in a fitness center after retirement. After completing the courses, he then started yoga. He claims to have began practicing yoga when he was 63 years old. After a year, he said that he fell in love with yoga.

Le reportedly won fourth in a yoga competition among players aged 35 and older in 2014. To get a senior yoga instructor certificate, Le spent 10 days learning yoga-related courses and practicing yoga. Most of his younger counterparts reportedly quit halfway through.

China is no stranger to elderly yogis. In 2013, Tang Youyue made local news headlines after he became one of Beijing's oldest certified yoga instructors. Tang practiced yoga for eight years after retiring from being a professor at Beijing University.

Meanwhile, Hou Zhenshan, 85, from Zhangjiakou City, is known for his great yoga skills that he even coined some of his own positions, giving them kung-fu names like "Buddha facing heavens" and "four dragons with a pearl".
