A Florida woman begins an act of goodwill at Starbucks early on Wednesday as she offered to pay for the next customer's drink, a caramel macchiato. The "acts of kindness" laster for almost 11 hours until customer number 379 decided to put an end to the goodwill chain.

According to store manager Grant Drain, almost 400 customers decided to 'pay it forward' after an unidentified woman in her mid-60's initiated paying for the following customer's coffee despite the fact the person is a stranger to her.

Breaking the Tyrone Boulevard Starbucks record of 141, 378 Starbucks patrons, who opted to 'carry the ball' and pay forward for the next customer's coffee.

"It was a pleasant surprise. Everybody likes their coffee paid for. So, it was nice," customer Melissa Garrand stated.

Though there was nobody in line following her, Garrand decided to buy a gift card for whoever orders next to continue the ripple of good will.

Sharon Taylor, another Good Samaritan, even paid for the following two customers' coffee as she was "feeling generous" that day.

Meanwhile, customer Lucy Ramon decided to 'pay it forward' twice as she lined up in the Starbucks drive-thru in the morning, where she was customer no. 57 and in the afternoon as customer no. 297.

Many regular Starbucks customers, including Ramon, who even brought her son to the café in the afternoon, lauded the act of kindness.

The ripple effect ended at around 6 in the evening when customer no. 379 pulled up and insisted on just paying for her own coffee.

Vu Nguyen, a barista serving at the particular Starbucks joint, said that the woman who ended the streak do not seem to understand the concept of 'paying it forward.'

Several similar instances had previously occurred in the same branch.

In 2013, a chain of caffeinated goodwill at a Connecticut Starbucks lasted several days, involving 1,468 coffee enthusiasts.
