Everton striker Romelu Lukaku is reportedly considering a move to Manchester United at the end of the season if his former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho will be there.

Rumors are widespread that the Portuguese manager will be replacing the struggling Louis van Gaal as chief bench tactician at the Old Trafford in the summer as Man United looks to revive itself as one of the continent's powerhouse squads next season.

The team has struggled for the past two years to claim back their old championship ways. With van Gaal at the helm since May of 2014, the Red Devils have failed to win the Premier League title or even finish in the top three of the domestic top flight competitions.

With that, young Belgian striker Lukaku is said to be "open to joining" United and "reuniting with Jose Mourinho if he leaves Everton in the summer", as per the Manchester Evening News.

There were reports last week that Lukaku's father, former football player Roger, had said that he wants his son to play for either Bayern Munich or United and had also called van Gaal's current squad as "a team under construction with no real focus".

The younger Lukaku is always seen at the Old Trafford nowadays and with the impending exit of van Gaal, it seems like he will get the blessing of his father to move to Manchester.

"When I was little, (Bayern and United) were two teams that impressed me by their offensive force," Lukaku said. "We'll see what will happen. Anyway, it is always nice to be linked with such clubs, this is proof that they watch me. The rest is the business of my manager."

However, Caught Offside noted that Lukaku's manager, Mino Raiola, recently disclosed that transferring to Italian Serie A squad Juventus is also a real possibility for the 22-year-old Antwerp, Belgium native.

"Lukaku? Of course, Juventus as a solution could go well," Raiola said.
