ZUK Mobile, a subsidiary of Chinese multinational technology company Lenovo Group Ltd., is preparing to launch a new smartphone called the ZUK Z2 Pro on Apr. 21. The handset is the official successor to the Z1 smartphone that was launched back in September 2015.

ZUK Mobile's Chief Executive Officer Chang Cheng recently confirmed the launch via Chinese social networking site Weibo. However, Mr. Cheng did not give any information on the device's name and features.

The ZUK Z2 Pro also appeared on the AnTuTu Benchmark along with its specifications. According to AnTuTu's listing, the device is expected to feature a 1,920 x 1,080 pixel resolution touchscreen (Full HD) and will come with the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS out of the box.

In terms of the camera, the ZUK Z2 Pro will have a 13 megapixel primary unit on the back and an 8 megapixel shooter on the front. Additionally, the phone could be available in two versions, one having 3GB of RAM, while the other will have 4GB RAM, both offering Qualcomm's powerful Snapdragon 820 quad-core chipset and 32GB of built-in memory storage.

Back in November 2015, leaked renders of the ZUK Z2 revealed what appears to be a unique rotating camera feature on top of the phone. The renders also showed the device sporting a metallic frame with 2.5D glass on the front and back. Since then, there hasn't been any confirmation on this so it could have been a concept merely designed by a ZUK fan, according to GSM Arena.

In comparison with its predecessor, the ZUK Z1 came out with a 5.5-inch IPS LCD touchscreen with Full HD pixel resolution, a 13 megapixel rear-facing camera, an 8 megapixel front-facing snapper, a Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM, 64GB of internal memory, and a large 4,100 mAh battery.
