He is an award-winning screenwriter and producer, and is CEO of Universal-based Focus Features. James is always part of Ang Lee's film. They have cooperated in eight films for more than twenty years. The new film is described as an epic look at the boxing world in last century. It will look back through the large number of excellent pugilists and famous fights, presumably touching upon pugilists like George Foreman, Marvin Hagler, Tommy Hearns, Robert Duran and Sugar Ray Leonard. But the most remarkably, Joe Frazier and Muhammad Ali will be included, with their legendary battle Thrilla In Manila fight going 3D.

The Thrilla in Manila was the third and final boxing match between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier for the Heavyweight Championship of the World. It was fought at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines on Wednesday, October 1, 1975. The contest's name is derived from the frequent rhyming boast made by Ali that the fight would be a "Killa and a Thrilla and a Chilla, when I get that gorilla in Manila". Finally, Ali won the tough match. The bout is consistently ranked as one of the greatest fights in the sport's history and was the culmination of the bitter rivalry between Ali and Frazier.

Peter Morgan will write the script for the new film. He is a British film writer and playwright. Peter Morgan is best known for writing the historical films and plays The Deal, The Queen and The Special Relationship.
