Hillary Clinton is poised to become the Democratic Party's official nominee as she secured enough delegates to win the presidential nomination, Associated Press reports.

Clinton is ready to come out the victor following a long and straining primary season to become the first woman to lead a major party in the presidential elections.

According to AP's latest tally, Clinton clinched just the exact number of delegates to ensure her victory in fight against Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont.

It has long been expected, even inside the Democratic circles, that Clinton would get the party's nomination Tuesday after California, New Jersey and four other states cast their vote. But AP eventually found out that there are more superdelegates pledging their support to Clinton over the weekend. By Monday her gains already guaranteed her the nomination and only the votes of the remaining states are awaited to solidify her position.

"We are on the brink of a historic, historic unprecedented moment but we still have work to do, don't we?" she said, speaking in Long Beach, California, on Monday.

"We have six elections tomorrow and are going to fight hard for every single vote, especially right here in California."

Clinton is expected to make his toughest fight in the presidential campaign should Donald Trump get the Republican nomination. Clinton is expected to his him with his business record, character and tendency to use his campaign to air his personal grudges, a trademark that has so stuck on the minds of voters already. Trump, meanwhile, is aiming to sling Clinton as a liar and someone who can't be trusted.

Clinton would then add another feat to her name. She was the First Lady of the United States when his husband, Bill Clinton, was elected president from 1993 until 1998 and again from 1998 until 2001. She was elected the first female senator from the state of New York when she was elected to the office in 2000 and consequently the only first lady so far to seek for a public office.  Already a presidential aspirant in the 2008 elections, she garnered more delegates than any other previous female candidates only to be defeated in the democratic nomination by Barack Obama.  She eventually served as Secretary of State in the Obama administration from 2009 to 2013, responding to the Arab Spring and advocating the U.S. military intervention in Libya.
