The Queen and Prince Phillip, together with members of the British Royal Family, are slated to attend a thanksgiving service at the St Paul's Cathedral in London. Past and present government officials, politicians as well as foreign guests are expected to grace the occasion.

British Prime Minister David Cameron and veteran broadcast journalist Sir David Attenborough will serve as readers at the service.

On June 11, the annual Trooping the Color is expected to amaze everyone, as a more than 1,400 officers and men will parade alongside 200 horses and more than 400 musicians to celebrate the Queen's birthday.

However, the most-awaited spectacle will be the appearance of the royal family members on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, followed by a flypast by the British Royal Air Force to conclude the event.

On Sunday, the Queen will host a street party for 10,000 people. Known as the Patron's Lunch, the event is a celebration of the Queen's patronage of more than 600 charities and organizations.

The occasion will be held on The Mall, the road which leads to the Buckingham Palace, and will see people cheering for the queen's good health and long life.

Queen Elizabeth II was born on April 21, 1926, to the Duke and Duchess of York. Her father, Prince Albert, the second son of King George V, eventually succeeded to the throne in 1936 and after his death in 1952, she ascended as Queen.

Since the reign of King George II, public celebrations of the sovereign's birthday are usually celebrated in June.
