Lowly teams Shandong Luneng Taishan FC (3-9-4, 13 points) and Shijiazhuang Ever Bright (3-8-5, 14 points) are scheduled to face one another at the Jinan Olympic Sports Center Stadium on Wednesday, July 13 as the 2016 Chinese Super League season continues.

Shandong Luneng, a perennial contender of the Chinese first division domestic competitions, finally managed to put a stop to its 10-game winless spell as they pulled off a massive 2-1 upset over one of this season's title contenders, Jiangsu Suning FC, also at their home field in Jinan last Saturday, Shanghai Daily reported.

Jiangsu's Brazilian striker Jô scored the opening goal of the game at the eighth minute and the visitors were able to take care of the one-point lead until the halftime break.

However, two goals in the second half for Taishan Dui, courtesy of a brace from Argentine winger Walter Montillo at the 57th and 74th, erased the deficit and gave newly-appointed Shandong head coach Felix Magath his first victory with the club after five games in charge.

Former Chelsea midfielder Ramires was sent off in stoppage time and lost his cool as he tried to confront the referee. He was successfully held back by his teammates, though, and there are still no reports whether he will face a sanction from the club or the league after the misdemeanor.

Meanwhile, Shijiazhuang Ever Bright suffered its third straight loss after dropping a 1-2 decision to middling team Liaoning Whowin FC at the Shenyang Olympic Sports Center Stadium last Friday, as per Soccerway.

Liaoning netted the first two goals of the contest at the 16th and 83rd minutes via shots from newly-acquired Australian striker Dario Vidosic and Nigerian forward Anthony Ujah respectively.

Ever Bright managed to score a consolation goal two minute before full time from another newly-signed import, Brazilian striker Matheus.

The predicted result is another 2-1 win for Shandong Luneng on their home ground.
